Saoirse Ronan will reteam with “Atonement” helmer Joe Wright in “Hanna,” a Focus Features drama which gives the 14-year old actress the chance to be an action hero.

Ronan, who is coming off “The Lovely Bones,” will play a teen who was raised by her ex- U.S. military father in the Swedish wilderness, and uses the survival skills he taught her to battle U.S. intelligence agencies as she journeys across Europe to be reunited with him.

While “Atonement” cast her as a young girl who did a very bad thing, “Hanna” gives her a chance to play a total badass. Ronan was Oscar-nominated for “Atonement,” her breakout role.

Script was written by David Farr and Seth Lochhead. Leslie Holleran, Scott Nemes and Marty Adelstein are producing.

How interesting… I wrote a story very similar to this once… Mine had the protagonist (also teen, but less of a badass, more of a cold-hearted bitch) sort of find humanity and her own emotions through one of those cliche good-value families who live in a friendly isolated area…

Not to mention I created one of my most badass characters to date, a psychopathic misanthropist schizophrenic mass-murdering traumatized masked teen mercenary who in a way also kicked the protagonist’s humanity into gear after nearly tearing her to shreds =D To beat a psychopath you need a more hardcore one

Sorry, I digress =P, giving up writing took a toll on me D=

I’m already certain I would see this film, and I’m sure this actress can pull it off. She’s played a quirky hormonal child, a well-spoken british (british!) girl with a hell of an imagination, and an american 1970’s teen who gets hannibal lector’d (minus the blatant cannibalism, add the rape)…. this should hopefully let her unleash her inner badass
