Adrian Kali Turner of Tacoma Park, Maryland started acting at the tender young age of 4, when he landed the lead role in a school play.
Following a family move to Fayetteville, Georgia, Adrian Kali competed in his school’s poetry recitation contest. He won first place in the school-wide competition 2 yrs. in a row and ultimately won 1st place in the Georgia regional competition. While in Georgia, Adrian Kali quickly became involved in church and school plays as well as community theatre.
In 2006, Adrian Kali participated in the Actor’s Models and Talent Convention (AMTC). He performed for an international audience of parents, students, and talent scouts. Adrian shone among the 200 other boys within the 9-12 age range, earning him a 2nd place Child Monologue Award, 2nd place Child Commercial Award and a finalist award for Best Overall Child Actor.
Since moving to Los Angeles in January 2007, Adrian Kali has guest starred in several TV shows including iCarly, Yo Gabba Gabba, Chuck, Lincoln Heights, Nick Kid’s Choice Awards, Numb3rs, Flash Forward, and Disney’s 3-Minute Game Show. He has been in 10 films with lead roles in Entitled, Lost and Hound and the award winning The Cure.
Within 6 months of his move to LA, the Screen Actor’s Guild invited Adrian Kali to become a member. As a highlight of his career thus far, Adrian Kali will appear in the highly anticipated Hollywood/Bollywood drama My Name is Khan.
When asked what he liked most about living and working in Mumbai, India, Adrian replied:
“I met many people. I had a chance to meet and interact with people from South Africa, Afghanistan , Dubai, Germany and India. I learned a lot about their cultures, and they learned about mine. The South African children on the set even taught me how to speak Zulu and one of the production assistants taught me how to sing We Shall Overcome in Hindu. It was an AWESOME trip”.
In addition to acting, Adrian sings and raps. He is the fifth member of the singing group, the Boys Crew. Boys Crew is currently in the studio and will begin appearing on the scene in Fall 2010. Also, Adrian is a member of the Agape International Children’s Choir, who sang for President Obama’s Neighborhood Ball and appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Ellen and Larry King Live.
