Usually a “bio” means an actual biography focusing on your acting experience, not a resume. Below is an example of a “bio”-
Joann Jacobs knew she wanted to be an actress at the age of 6 when she began performing mini plays for her family at holiday gatherings. By the age of 8, she was making two hour trips to New York every weekend to study acting and dance. Luck struck when she landed the role of Annie in “Annie” at an Off Broadway Theatre. On opening night, in the audience sat a top casting director who was looking for a young girl to play the lead in independent film. Joann auditioned and booked the role! From this she also signed with her first talent agent. Since then she has guest starred on the tv shows “Grounded for Life” and “Strong Medicine” and appeared in over a dozen commercials. Joann continues her acting training and can’t wait for her next project.

The good people of the Young Actors Holdon Log wrote this article on writing your bio. I then archive each child’s bio in their PerformerTrack account and make updates as needed.

Thanks Lorry, this is a big help are we are working on bios for their IMDB pages. I guess I didn’t realize what kind of things to include. I met a publicist who wanted to charge me $200 to do this. I thanked the Holdon Log people and they gave me a promotional code for the YA HL you mentioned. BVKH4 is good for 10%. off. Pays off to be nice.
I heard them speak on the Childreninfilm webcast. What a wealth of knowledge, just like this site :>) teehee. Bios have been helpful for the twins’ playbill and company membership profiles one time you do it and you can always update it.
Does a child need to have a work permit for independent short films? What if they are SAG deferred or experimental?
