Congrats on the agent. Just getting an agent is a big accomplishment. Now it’s time to nurture that relationship and following the agents wishes is a huge part. If the agent said not to submit your daughter yourself, I wouldn’t. This is my opinion. There are so many reasons why you don’t need to. One example is- say your daughter books a small non union commercial for a local hardware store that you submitted her for and now the agent is getting her an audition for Home Depot, your daughter may not be able to take the job if they find out about the little commercial that is airing (that paid her $300). Now she can’t work on the Home Depot commercial that could her MUCH more. You just never know. You also risk not being able to take your daughter to a big union audition because she is busy working on the short film that she is doing for free. These are just a few examples on why you should follow the agent’s instructions. Now if months pass and your daughter fails to get auditions then you will have to explore other options. For now I would be patient and stop looking at those breakdowns. They can make you nutty. Lorena
