We get asked this question all the time!!! I don’t happen to believe there is such thing as an “IT” factor! There are countless stories of actors who are tremendously successful who studied, auditioned, and pounded the pavement for years before they got their big break. If they would have given up they would have never made a career out of acting.
If you are getting your child started in acting solely to make them a star, then you are missing the mark. Some kids are ready to start working right away and for some it can take years before they have success. The one thing that you must make sure of as a parent is that your child’s heart is in it. If they happen to love the art of acting then it should not bother them to stay focused on improving their craft. If they are doing it just to become famous they may endure rejection that is difficult to deal with. So number one- make sure they love acting…the classes, performing, auditioning, rehearsing and working hard. It’s luck meets preparation. Olivia
