Jennifer Stone plays Harper in the Disney Channel hit series “Wizards of Waverly Place”. I had the opportunity to interview her and I asked her some of YOUR questions!
I asked her everything from how she got the role of Harper to what Harper’s wizard power would be if she could have one.
DS: How long have you been in the acting business?
J: A whole decade.
D.S.: What is the very first movie/show that you did?
J: The very first movie that I did was Secondhand Lions.
D.S.: Miley wants to know how you got the role of Harper and what where the auditions like?
J: Hey Miley! The audition process for Wizards was pretty simple for me, actually. I had previously worked with Disney on another project that didn’t pan out so they kept me in mind. They thought of me for Harper and called me to fly from Texas, my hometown, to California to audition. I probably only had two or three auditions, total. Very lucky.
D.S.: Danielle would love you to describe your WOWP co-stars in one word?
J: Tough one. Fantastical would probably be the best word to describe the lot of them, because they are both wonderful and fantastic.
D.S.: N’keeyah wants to know who the funniest person on the WOWP set is?
J: David Deluise is probably the funniest person on set. He is hilarious!
D.S. How are you and Harper alike and how are you different?
J: Harper and I are a like in the fact that we both get super excited over things that sometimes other people don’t quite get. We’re different in that I am a bit more low key than Harper. Harper is a bit tightly wound.
D.S.: If Harper could have one magical power, what would you like it to be?
J: I know Harper would like it to be instant outfit abilities. You know she gets tired making all of those intricate themed ensembles. lol
D.S.: So, you are heading out to Puerto Rico soon to film the WOWP movie, how long will you be there?
J: I am traveling there on two different occasions, but in all I will probably be there six days.
D.S.: Have you ever been to Puerto Rico before?
J: No I haven’t, but I am so excited! I hear the rain forest there if gorgeous.
D.S.: Without spilling too much, what can you tell me about your role in the movie?
J: I’m the dash of spice to the main dish.
D.S.: After the movie wraps up, what’s next for you? Will you be taping more Wizards episodes?
J: Certainly! Once we finish the movie we’ll have a month off and then go right into filming season 3.
D.S.: N’Keeyah also wants to know if you plan on pursuing a career in music or anything else besides acting?
J: Good question, N’Keeyah! I don’t think I would want to make an album, but I would love to be the lead in a Broadway musical some day.
D.S.: There are a lot of aspiring actors and actresses who read Disney Society. What advice would you give them about pursuing an acting career?
J: Start doing theatre at your school or your community theatre. I started at my community theatre and it is such a great way to establish a good base and to have fun doing it.
Thanks
