Unfortunately, it’s always different. If your daughter auditioned for a guest role that works next week then she might get a callback a day or two later. If your daughter auditioned for a series regular role, the callback may not be for 3 or 4 weeks. Casting may need to see kids for weeks before narrowing down their choices. It just really depends on the show, the show’s time frame and the role. Sorry I can’t give you a better answer but it’s just the way it is.
I will advise you to not sit around waiting for callbacks. Kids really need to go in to auditions, do their best, walk out and go on with their lives. There are just too many auditions to let each one affect you and your child’s life too long. Forget about it for now…it will be a nice surprise if and when your daughter gets a callback.

go Lorena - very good advice. One never knows. We’ve been called for things 2 months later, called for things because we didn’t get what we auditioned for but they liked us. Very good sound and honest advice. Just keep moving on and make this fun. Once it isn’t fun for everyone involved, it will show to the casting people and they won’t hire you even if you fit the part and that’s the truth, unless you are a household name and even then look what happened to Lindsay Lohan who is such a talented actress.
Hi there -
I am interested in getting my 8 year old daughter into acting — and am not sure how to start. We live in Virginia, but are willing to travel.
Thank you in advance, for any insight you can provide.
