It really depends on what your interest is. If you are considering getting your child involved in acting professionally then keep in mind kids generally start in Commercial acting. Getting your child in any type of acting class will prove to be beneficial. I recommend when you are just starting out that you begin by taking a Commercial workshop. The reason for this is that your kid can get their  feet wet without feeling overwhelmed. In most Commercial classes they will do games and exercises that will bring out your child’s personality. That should always be the first step when beginning to train. Not only will they be able to come out of their shell but most classes will be on camera. This is a way that they can get comfortable in-front of the camera without being concerned with too much dialog.
